In conjunction with the exhibition “Picasso – birth of a genius”, UCCA Center for Contemporary Art has produced the bilingual catalogue Picasso – Birth of a Genius.

Including over 130 artwork reproductions and biographical photographs, the publication draws on the insights of curators and scholars to show how Picasso became the modern master we know today.

The book includes an essay by the exhibition’s curator Emilia Philippot alongside her texts introducing the different sections of the show. Further original research by Central Academy of Fine Arts Professor Wu Xueshan traces the history of Picasso’s influence in China since the early twentieth century.
