Major figure of the Belle Époque, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec depicted the Parisian society of the end of the 19th Century with discerning accuracy. His artworks are witnesses of the development of the artistic Montmartre and the Parisian life: the enthusiasm for cabarets, the bustling theaters, the growth of the press and the explosion of publicity.

His peculiar design is recognizable among others, as it came to embody the buzzing Parisian Belle Époque.
